The “Galeries Lafayette” is a department store of luxury products, very famous in Paris, France. It evolved and appeared in others towns in the country. Now, it comes to China!
It was announced in December of 2007, nowadays it is sure: A “Galeries Lafayette” store will open in Beijing in 2013.
After a lease signed with the Chinese company I.T Limited, we can confirm the upcoming opening of a Galeries Lafayette store in a building in Beijing. Indeed, the groups Galeries Lafayette and I.T Limited finalized their partnership (announced in 2007), by forming a company located in Hong Kong controlled by the two groups in fifty-fifty.
The company in Hong-Kong is responsible for dealing with the administration, management and development of large stores under the Galeries Lafayette’s name in Popular Republic of China.
Philippe Houzé, Chief executive of Galeries Lafayette said that he was very pleased to cooperate with a dynamic Chinese company, specialist in ready-to-wear with different customers segments. He is convinced that by combining their skills and expertise, they will build a new concept of stores in the Popular Republic of China.
It’s in 2013 that the Galeries Lafayette in Beijing will open its doors.
