It seems that even though he will not be playing in the World Cup, David Beckham keeps on appearing on the first pages of the magazines. Recently he signed a contract with ‘Yahoo!’ for promoting the site, or to be more specific, to promote their communication platform ‘It’s you’ after it failed in attracting people to use it after its launch in 2009.
It’s still strange how the people from Yahoo! chose Beckham to be their endorse man because to associate a company with the eternal injured Beckham is quite risky, especially for ‘Yahoo!’, which is losing everyday pieces of the market share to their main competitor, Google.
Or maybe the strategy is to stress the similarities between the two brands that in their constant attempt of succeeding to be on top in their sectors, are acting like true worriers, like ‘Phoenix ’ birds that are ready to come to life from their own ashes.
