Nivea, the global skin- and body care brand, did, in partnership with consumer research authority Iconoculture some researches in order to determine what makes American people happy.
At the beginning of the year, the brand launched thos project in order to determine the trends amongst consumer behaviors and moods. In February, the first results from this survey were oriented on the mood "love" and "romance". Nivea kept on researching, and the new waves of results are finally here: Amercian people would in fact be happier than they were two years ago, despite the financial crisis. "What creates happiness is a state of mind and not a thing. The main sources of happiness come from relationships and life milestones." (see sources)
“We are happy to share with everyone the results from our second round of research for the ‘Nivea American Mood Monitor’ initiative,” said Nicolas Maurer, Vice President, Marketing, Beiersdorf Inc. “Our research shows, happiness can be spread from person to person through small, sometimes seemingly meaningless acts or things that can change a mood or make people feel happier; a memorable song, a pleasant smell or a sunny day can all enhance someone’s happiness.”
This could remind you the importance of five senses we evoked during last class. Generally speaking, the smell can evoke good feelings and good memories. With these results, Nivea would be more able to target its American aspect, playing with these factors. Indeed, the smell is an aspect of its cosmetic products.
