"The Institute for Advertising Self-Discipline (IAP) a watchdog group in Italy has, banned Tom Ford Eyewear ads from national media, WWD reports.
The close-up photo of a woman wearing Tom Ford glasses with a man's finger in her mouth was deemed by IAP to be "markedly vulgar" and, as such, it "transcends the limits of simple bad taste and offends the sensibility" of viewers. In addition, the committee believes the "scene evokes an offending and abusive act against women, which degrades the dignity of the person.""
In this advertising for sun glasses, we see this woman biting a finger of a man (this one is making the “fuck” sign. I just would like to give my opinion about the fact that this ad has been banned: so many ads are so more provoking! Here the woman is rather having a dominant position, than a posture which could “degrade the dignity of the person”. The fact that degrading ads are banned is normal, but this way the level of "prvocation" should be defined, as other ads can touch sensitive people (for instance the ad for a video game on the bus shelter with blood on the floor, as the game is very violent).
