I have
recently read an article dating from the beginning of the year and I thought it
is relevant to share with you. This article from Forbes magazine reports 5
surprising marketing trends of 2013.
First of
all, there is the smarter social media. The author of the article says that at
the start, companies were seeking to integrate all social media platforms
because they felt an obligation to do so. That is quite true. Today, a company
cannot allow to not using social networks. However, in 2013, the trend is
rather to integrate social networks that correspond to the type of business. In
short, social networks that are used by the target group and potential users of
the company. I totally agree with this idea, because when a company is present
on a social network, it must be entirely. There are no half-measure. So,
instead of wasting time and risking to sully its image, it is better to focus only
on networks that could bring it profits.
Then, the
author believes that the future in marketing strategies is simplicity. Indeed,
with all the technologies, we are solicited from everywhere. By adopting a
simply way, companies will allow consumers to give up and enjoy more the
experience. Personally, I think it is a very good strategy, because people
nowadays often have 50,000 things to do per day. Therefore, by proposing to
simplify the life of the consumers, it cannot really have a negative impact.
Also,
according to the Forbes magazine, "the campaign-based marketing will take
a break".
In 2013, we
should notice strategies that focus on real-time, the "live" that
social media and the web bring,
While some
studies show that nearly three-quarters of executives do not believe that
marketing does not bring income, 2013 will be the year of change. Indeed,
"marketing’s worth to a company will start being weighed against sales
growth" says the author. In this way, the marketing department should be
much more effective.
Finally, as
we all have noticed, the Smartphone have integrated our market quickly and
intensely. We are more connected on it than on our computer. However, "90%
of global marketers have a mobile site, but only 20% include mobile strategies".
Which is very little for the mobile phone market that continues to grow. In
2013, we can expect to see the marketing strategy be more intensive at this
level. I think is quite logical and primordial for a company.
Have you
seen this kind of marketing trends since the beginning of the year?
