International Institute of Digital Marketing in Philippines

The recent launching of the International Institute of Digital Marketing in Philippines (on April 2013) is just another proof that certified digital marketers are needed in the industry. The International Institute of Digital Marketing is a project between The Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines and E-Learning Edge.
Top agencies owned by WPP, Aegis Group, IPG, Omnicom and Publicis (just to give some names) will send mentors who will teach in 12 modules offered exclusively to marketing practitioners. Students need to pass all the modules in order to be given the title Certified Digital Marketing (CDM). Which is interesting is that the Certified Digital Marketing title is valid for a year only. If they want to renew it, graduates are required to earn points by talking in conferences, practicing digital and mentoring students in the program.

Which could be the most important aspects that a digital marketer has to take into consideration? As far as Hans Eric Roxas-Chua, chief executive of E-Learning Edge is concerned, digital marketers should be able to think on their feet, considering the pace digital consumption and technology is growing, to be fast decision makers, to stay with the eyes opened to global trends while observing what works best on local plan.
Because we have thought in many occasions during our classes how adaptation and innovation work in marketing, I think that talking about the new expertise areas for professionals, that become more and more specialized, is just bringing another example for adaptation to the market needs nowadays.

IIDM partners include the Marketing and Opinion Research Society of the Philippines, Philippines Association of National Advertisers, Philippine Marketing Association, Philippine Retailers Association, Public Relations Society of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle University.
