I looked up som different brands in different countries to see how a sun screen ad can look like.
This first one is from New Zeeland:
Even if sun screen lotion is something very simple it can be a hard task for the brands to create a ad that really get people's attention. I like this one really much, it's both a bit humor in it but it also show that this will happen if you don't use sun screen = take care of your skin. I also like this ad because they don't use the common pictures with bikini girls, beaches or sunshine. This also give the information that the sun also can "get you" even when you drive your car. It's a simple and but it has a clear message.
The next one is from Sweden and it's in Sweden but I think you will get it anyway:
This commercial is very simple and short. We see this girl in the sun with her face and then the text that says " Sweden's sun screens assortments". Then we just see the products of the brand and where we can find them. For me this is just a typical commercial from the pharmacy, simple and always showing the product. They use the same colors, music and girl for all commercials and ads. But for me this is not really a good one. I want more information, what can this product do for me and so on. And it's quite boring according to me..
The last one is a sun screen commercial for kids (or the parents):
The commercial has everything a parent needs, information about the product, the brand name and it shows how to use the product. The product is easy to use and a parent's dream. This one is really good and it shows it's best qualities in only 30 sek. Just the way it should be! The target group here is NOT the kids it's the parents, every parents wants to protect the kids in the sun and here's the product for them. The kids can play in teh sand, swim and just be kids and the sun screen will still be there.
Before this post I was sure that most of the sun screen commercials and ads were pretty much the same but it's not, we can find different target groups, different cultures/countries and humor and also ads with more information.
