The second ad illustrates the stereotype of the man who is not ashamed of having an ugly girl next to him if he can drink for free a good beer as much as he wants. We also can perceive the idea that this beer is so good that no matter what you have to do, you must drink it. The "Strong stuff' Boddington's is so potent that if one had unlimited supply then one would become happy to go out with unattractive women. The entire advertisement is based upon the sexist premise that a good beer worth any sacrifice and that men love beer so much that they never hesitate to do such sacrifices.
We can easily observe that the brand positions itself as a strong, qualiy oriented product. Even the slogan ‘’Strong stuff from Manchester’’ emphasizes the main feature of the product, showing that Boddington beer is not intended for everyone, but for only those who can deal with its strong taste. Moreover, the ad clearly conveys the message that the beer is so good that nothing can stop a man to drink it and enjoy it, and that Boddington is worth all the efforts.
